ISHIDA Dance Company, nationally recognized in Dance Magazine’s “25 to watch”, in collaboration with Asia Society Texas Center presents “inside my walls” with critically acclaimed dancers and choreography by ISHIDA, Greek choreographer Andonis Foniadakis, and Stephen Shropshire based in the Netherlands. “inside my walls” premieres June 12-15, 2025 at the Asia Society Texas Center. Tickets on sale now at IshidaDance.org.
The feature world premiere “inside my walls” by ISHIDA is inspired by internationally renowned Japanese author Haruki Murakami and the distinct worlds he creates. Utilizing magical realism, “inside my walls” follows an eccentric introvert who encounters a mysterious visitor who has been living inside his apartment walls.
The program also includes ISHIDA’s beloved “when shall we three meet again” attributed to Macbeth’s proleptic “weird sisters”. A highly anticipated world premiere by guest choreographer Stephen Shropshire who has received awards and honors for his choreography in Europe and Greek choreographer Andonis Foniadakis’ memorable work “Horizons” will complement the bill. Foniadakis’ work is well known in the European dance community commissioned by many of the top European dance companies over the past two decades. The evening promises to be a unique opportunity to see some of the best and most interesting choreography from Europe and the US.
